I asked him to find a hobby, and he found a Toy

If there is one thing that Michael gets very excited about it is new tech stuff. Especially Apple computers and phones.
Recently he got to make the buying decision on some new work computers, so he had to test out all of the options to decide which computer was the best.
Here he is testing which ones are faster and have better memory.
And here is that cute little boy on Christmas smile he gets whenever he gets his hands on something cool.
I asked him to find a hobby, and he found a toy. lol But I guess if thats what he's into...
Personally I think they all look and function pretty much the same. Apple makes the best computers, but there aren't enough differences in the models for me to justify the cost. I will just stick to the old one we bought from David.

Sam goes Home

So today is the day that Sister Summer sadly comes to an end.  After a fantastic 6 weeks, filled with  adventures, exploring, summer jobs, and new experiences, Sam boarded a flight back home.

She has many friends and a boyfriend back home who have been longing for her to come back. While my parents know she is returning today, none of the kids or extended family know she's coming. My little brother skyped us last night and we told him "sometime in a few weeks" she would be returning. He cried because he misses her, so I'm sure he will be over joyed when she comes walking inside.

Thank you for coming and bringing a little bit of Home to North Dakota. It was a great bonding time full of craziness, late nights, and hair braiding. We will defiantly have to continue our Bachelor in Paradise nights over Skype. And I will bring you that terror of a cat when I come to visit.

Lake Metigoshe

Sister Summer is coming to an end, and soon Sam will be headed back home. So today we decided to go on a little adventure. We all took the day off and headed toward the Canadian Boarder to Lake Metigoshe.
One side of the lake is North Dakota, the other is Canada. You can be in the water all you want, but you better not board the wrong shore.

I think we had more fun on the dock than in the actual water. It was nice to get out and enjoy some much needed sunshine. Just hang out and have a good time outside.

It was well worth the drive. Often we get so wrapped up in work and al the things we have to do do that we forget how to have fun and just do things for the sake of doing them and having a good time. Sometimes you just have to say 'Screw it' and just go.
Defiantly the best day of this Summer so far.

Asking for your hand

Tonight was the season finally of the Bachelorette, and being my favorite reality TV show, I forced my household to watch it. This is the episode where the men meet the Bachelorettes parents and each ask for their permission to marry her. So I asked Michael to tell us the story of when he asked my parents permission.
So he recounted the story:

September 12th 2014:
Earlier that day I went to Salt Lake and visited Marie. I told her I was going to ask Amber to marry me, and asked her if she wanted to come with me to pick out the ring. So Marie and I went to the mall, and she helped me pick the perfect ring. Then I drove back to Vernal really excited. I texted you (you were at work) and asked you if your parents were home. You said yes, so I went to your house. Your parents were a little surprised when I showed up alone. I said hi to all your family and then asked your parents if they had a second to talk and we went out to the back porch. I think they already had an idea of why I was there.
I said: "I really love Amber, as you know, And I would like to spend the rest of my life with her. And I would like to ask her to marry me." And your dad said "I don't know, don't you think its a little soon?" (We had only been dating for 2 and a half months) But your mom seemed totally for it. I said "Well I plan on asking her now, but we would wait 6 months or so before we actually get married."  Then your dad said "Well yeah, thats fine. I just want to know that you guys are ready." and I said "Yes. Im ready, I love her to death, she's everything I could ask for." And then he said" Actually... theres one condition..." And jokingly added "You gotta tell her she has to clean her room first."  "I'll do it for her!" I laughed. And then excitedly headed home. After work you came over to my apartment to hang out before Singles Ward activity. I planned on waiting until later in the evening, but I got excited and nervous and ended up asking you right there in the living room."

He said "I love you." And I said "Aww I love you too." Then he asked "Will you love me forever?" And handed me the little box. He was shaking so bad. I screamed "Of course!"
I laughed "Why are you so nervous?" and he said "I thought you would say no!" I don't know why, we had talked about getting married before.

Then we went to the Bonfire for YSA Ward, but we didn't stay long because Michael was starting to feel sick. We drove home and he got sick on the way back to his apartment. So when we got to his apartment we said goodbyes and I headed home. It was a 15 drive from his place to mine, and I was thinking the whole way 'What if he is sick because he regrets asking me? What if he is unsure?"
Just as I was about to pull onto my street he called me and told me he was better and asked me to come back. Turns out he was worried that I was thinking just that, and he reassured me that he was sick from dinner and not because of the engagement. We watched movies with his brother and Alex. And he said "This is a bunch of crap that looking back on our engagement our night was ended by being sick." lol but it is defiantly something I still remember.

I love when he tells me the story of the first day our lives started together. I will cherish the memories of that day forever. Michael will always be my Bachelor, and he gets the final rose every time ;)

4th of July

For the 4th we had a 4 day weekend to hang out. We took our bikes down to Oak Park and rode around. Then we had dinner and watched the fireworks from our balcony.
Thankfully we had really nice weather and were able to enjoy the day instead of hiding from storms

We got a tiny Tiger

So the vet next door to my work brought over this little guy someone found in a parking lot. He needed a good home and Sam wanted a little buddy. So he came home with us.
She named him Presley, after the King. He is a tiny terror, but he is super adorable.

Sister Summer

On Tuesday June 21st my sister flew in to come spend the summer here in North Dakota with me. It was her first flight and she did amazingly well for flying alone for 6 hours and switching flights in one of the bigger busier airports.

Its like a sleepover every day.

We drove around town, gave her a tour of our crazy town. Stopped by a KolAid stand.

Dyed eachothers Hair. We have matching blue streaks now.

This was the day I picked her up from the Airport.

When we were goofing off with Grandma's wig that we just so happened to accidentally color match Sams new dye to.
