Mikes ER Adventures (Episode 2)

Mike has been having some heart pain for a little over a week now, and it hasn't been getting better. We tried a couple of things to see if we could pin point what was causing it, stress, exercise, caffeine, ect... and nothing really makes a difference. It just comes on suddenly as sharp stabbing pains in his chest on his left side right under his heart area. And the night before last he had stabbing chest pains that were accompanied by throbbing head pain in synch with the stabbing. (Pretty freaked out about that) He does have 2 bad teeth that are needing root canals, but he had those examined a few weeks ago and they said they were not infected or too the point of concern or needing antibiotics yet, so we're not sure if that has anything to do with the heart pain.
We scheduled an appointment with a GP Dr. for Friday in hopes of having a full panel blood test done and maybe getting a referral to a specialist concerning pain.
But earlier today he had an "episode" where the heart pain was so sudden and painful it took the air out of him and made him want to pass out. So right after work we decided to go to the ER just to be safe.
We checked in at 4:42pm, and sat in a crowded waiting room for.ev.er.
The nurses checked his blood pressure and vitals several times while we waited to make sure he wasn't having serious issues, and then we got pushed back and pushed back as ambulances came in, several people arrived with broken bones and bleeding extremities. And there was a lady drenched in sweat who kept complaining of how she was about to vomit for hours on end.
Amber does not to well with blood, or vomit, or people for that matter and the entire time we were there she looked like she was about to pass out.

Finally after almost 4 hours we were taken back, but there were no open rooms so we sat on a gurney in the busy hall as ER doctors and injured people rushed around us.
When the doctor was finally able to come over to us he talked with Michael for about 2 minutes and told him it wasn't anything serious and was probably a virus. That "most" chest pain is caused by tissue in your chest rubbing your lungs or some crap due to a viral infection and that we shouldn't be worried. No coughing, fever, or other feelings of unwellness... and its a virus?
He then listened to Mikes heart and lungs with a stethoscope and said something along the lines of "yep, wheezing" (Mike nor I heard this wheezing) and then wrote us a prescription for 3 different medications including steroids and antibiotics.
At that point I got irritable. "So what... thats it? Your just gonna look at him and know thats what it is? No lab work, no tests, nothing?"
The doctor was very arrogant and said "I can diagnose this clinically. You don't need lab work" I gave him a dirty look and he said "We can do an x-ray..."
So down the hall we went, and got an x-ray and all that shows is that he doesn't have pneumonia (go figure) but somehow that means he must have a virus and not a heart related issue.
So almost 5 hours later, a copay, and a major headache later and we went home with a prescription for Doxycycline and not much peace of mind.
I feel like the ER was busy, and he just wanted to verify he wasn't currently dieing and get us out the door. We're waiting to pick up the prescription until after he sees the GP to see if he even has a "viral infection" and get a second opinion. And I am absolutely fed up with Drs.
